Star Wars Birthday!

I'm so excited that I'm finally posting these pictures for you guys!! Bella requested a Star Wars theme for her birthday this year and I have to admit I was a little apprehensive. I am not familiar with the movies, like she is, but luckily I had my friend, Denise, to assist me. She also happens to be a huge Star Wars fan!

Dessert & Favor Table

The dessert/favor area was the main set up. We scaled this party down a bit from our usual party decor but I think the details we did incorporate made a big bang!! 

• Glow stick light sabers: Dollar Tree glow sticks, duct tape, and sharpie marker
• Tie fighter hanging by command hooks.: I purchased mine here: Tie Fighter 3D Model kit
• Darth Vader and *pink* storm trooper cupcakes
• Storm trooper goodie bags: I used a storm trooper graphic and printed them out. I cut out the faces and used rubber cement to glue them to your typical white lunch bags.
• "Come to the dark side We have cupcakes" print out and pink frame provided by: Everything But The Cake

The backdrop is a twinkle light star wall. It's super easy to make. You can take a black foam board and use a drill bit to drill holes in the board for your lights to poke through. I secured the back with duct tape to make sure the lights stayed in place. Regular white Christmas lights would work.

Vader, storm trooper, and ship cut outs were also provided by Everything But The Cake. In the hallway we tried creating a star wall with twinkle lights and a black table cloth but the photograph didn't do it justice.

Pink Storm Trooper Cupcakes

Initially I had a plan for a cake but poor planning didn't allow that to happen. Instead I whipped up these super easy cupcakes topped with a pink marshmallow storm trooper. I used a Wilton food marker to draw on the faces.

Free Girl Scout Invitations: Court of Awards Garden Party

Hey Girl Scout Leaders!!

It's that time for the end of the year Court of Awards and party! I've totally been slacking with the planning this year and we have our bridging ceremony too! That's why I had to dig into last year's planning materials to find this goodie!

Last year I posted about our Daisy Flower Journey and Included this feebie in the take action blog post but I realized it's awfully hard to find so I wanted to make sure you all had the chance to use this feebie in case you are in a hurry like myself. I love reusing things!

Jazz up your invites with this easy trick!

Hey everyone!

I'm so excited to share with you today my weekend project and my latest obsession! 

Envelope Liners!

This is seriously so easy to do and it makes the invitation feel like a million bucks. 

What you need...

• A7 square flap envelope
• Paper for the liner
• Scissors or paper cutter
• glue stick or rubber cement
• A7 envelope liner template

Here's how you do it!

1) Grab my free pdf A7 envelope liner template and print it out.

2) Cut out the template and lay it on top of the paper you wish to use as your liner. I would recommend a fairly thin paper, such as the decorative scrapbooking paper.

3) Trace the template on to the paper and cut out using scissors or a paper cutter such as this one...

4) Insert liner into the envelope. Once the liner is inserted and evenly arranged, lift back the liner to separate the envelope and dab glue on the edges of the back side of the liner.

5) Allow the glue to dry before you insert the invitation to make sure there is not excess glue that will stick.

And your done! Doesn't it make such a difference? These would look really special with thank you notes, too!

DIY Digital Snow White Invitations

For some reason I am the worst person at sending out physical invitations and thank you's.

Some people do it so well but for me, I always have to resort to an email, facebook event or evite.

I go through the trouble of creating this wonderful invitation on publisher and then... opps!! It's past that acceptable deadline to send them out and now I need something like right now!

Here is the Snow white Printable invitation I did created for my little one's birthday. Perhaps, I will share on Google docs or maybe put it up on Etsy? Let me know what you think I should do:)

Party Planning 101: Invitations

The very first impression you are giving your guest of your upcoming event is the invitation. I don't think people realize this, maybe the fine details of entertaining don't really matter much to you. Either way, an invitation of some kind is always extended.

So... Why send out an invitation?

Guests
Are one of the most important parts of entertaining. Whether it's the guest of honor or the attendees, you want them to be excited and feel special.

Before you send out the invite....
Make sure you have an idea of the type of party you want and a general theme. I know, some people hate themes but it not only adds some cohesiveness to the part, it prevents the who shindig from being a big confetti mess.

• Mail invites
• Printed digital
• Handmade
• fill in the blanks

• Email: This is very informal.

• Evite: Convenient to keep track of R.S.V.P's but I've seen many missed and taken for spam. Some don't even get delivered to the inbox.

• Facebook invite: These one's are hard because not everyone has or checks their Facebook account.

Well if you couldn't have already guessed it.... Bella's birthday party theme is....

Tinkerbell and a Neverland Party!!!

Peter Pan is one of her favorite movies and I knew how much she would love a Tink party! I am generally not a person to purchase anything I can do myself. When it comes to invitations, I always like to create them myself. Microsoft Publisher is a great tool and I have managed navigate through it fairly easily. So I came up with this design! What do you think?

It was pretty easy to create and there are many free graphics out there if you know where to search. As long as your not selling and they are for personal use, you should be okay with using free graphics! The key is searching for a PNG graphic.

Bella's Birthday!!!
I love birthdays. It's one of my most favorite things, next to Christmas.

Recently, I got the cricut cutter machine!! Ahhh I'm still so excited about it. So I decided to create the birhday invites with my new toy!
