Thursday Inspiration from Bob Marley

We've had a rough winter. The number of days below zero would account for my seasonal misery at the moment. There are many instances in our lives where we can feel this way and not just because of the weather. Things happen and we approach road blocks on a constant basis. A thing I do to keep myself going, is to hum a little song I know called Three Little Birds.....

"Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right.
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"
Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"
Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!"
Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!
Every little thing gonna be all right. Don't worry!"
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing" - I won't worry!
"'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right" - I won't worry!
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Singin': "Don't worry about a thing, oh no!
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right!
~ Bob Marley

Perhaps the humming allow is a great stress soother but there is something about these lyrics that resonates with me.. and my kiddies too. This is their night time lullaby. We also play the Legends CD softly as they go down.

With all the hats I'm juggling right now, I've found the urge to throw in the towel on many things including my education. I'm almost done with school, and yet it seems so unbearable. It's the first time I've had to think about if I really want to finish this.

Peace.

This is my Peace.

Every now and then we all need a little inspiration to get us through.

I'm looking forward to the warm weather and starting my first garden.

I'm looking forward to being done my degree.

I'm looking forward to remodeling our home.

I'm looking forward to our Disney vacation in September!

What are you looking forward to?

Your never too old

Yesterday I was driving along on my way home. I had gotten off work and had just picked up my daughter when I came to a red stop light. Exhausted and frustrated with the day I turned to my left. There in the driver seat was an older man... I'd say 60's maybe even older. He was rocking it out in his car!!! Head bobbing, fingers drumming and singing at the top of his lungs!

Right then I saw was life was really about. I could help but laugh out loud and the entire way home I had the biggest grin on my face.

Thank you older man for showing me that life will always be exciting and fun!! I just wish I could have know what song he was listening to.

"I'm walking on sunshine"
This song does that to me!

New year resolutions a little late

There are so many posts that I started this past month that I never finished, or by the time it was I didn't feel as excited about it. It has been so busy.

December was busy and the Holiday's were pleasent.

The start of January I tried Martha Stewart's Action Plan and lasted 4 days. The light food based detox took all of my energy away from me. I decided to come up with my own plan that I felt was obtainable. This year I am really serious about my resolutions and have thought out long and hard about what they are. I'm committed to improving! I'm exhausted with the job hunt and the constant rejection of the business world. I think I'm gonna try something different.

My new year resolutions...
Lose 55 pounds (5 pounds per month)... so far I have lost 4 this month!!!

Be much more organized and on time with house duties... On Jan. 2nd I went through the entire house, cleaned and organized. I got rid of so much clutter and a massive pile for donations!

Give more then I recieve... the donations

Be more confident and assertive with myself. I am capable! I've already improved on this one!! Woo Hoo!

Focus on activities that make me happy, crafting!

Be more Eco and earth friendly on a daily basis.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's a pretty long list, but I've been working on implementing all of them on a daily basis.
I think this year will be my year!
Feel Good Friday!
Here's a quote for all you mama's out there that have a little crazy in their lives!
"Chaos often breeds life, when order breeds habit." - Henry Adams
 Its time to take a moment after the long week and feel good. Here is a picture of my two dogs when I lived back in Arizona! Aren't they so cute together! I hope you all have a great weekend and remember to smile:)
Forgivness...
Bob Marley said it best...
"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for."
It's hard when someone lets you down to the capacity of a plane crash. I was asked the other day by a friend "how have you learned to let go?" It's true that everyone at some point of your life will let you down. There is no stopping it, that's just the way life goes. Even the people nearest and dearest to you will do this. Your friends, family, mother, father, brother, sister, best friend, spouse and some day your own children.
We all have our faults. Every single one of us. No one is perfect, and why should we be? Whether you are aware of it or not you too have hurt someone to this extent. You can't forget your own transgressions. So the idea of forgiveness is to appreciate that... recognizing that everyone is human, and while it does hurt like a bullet to your gut the pain will eventually subside. And when it does you have to decide if that person is worth the pain and suffering.
Forgiveness isn't about what someone did, its about the pain behind it and are they worth it.
I AM... On my way...
"Who are you to judge the life I live?
I know I'm not perfect
-and I don't live to be-
but before you start pointing fingers...
make sure you hands are clean!"
— Bob Marley
Who am I?
I've reach my breaking point in life. I'm constantly surrounded by idealistic people who continue to remind me what I'm not doing right. As if there was only one way of life, one way to live and everything else is unacceptable. Whatever happened to doing the best you can. If I haven't proven it yet I want to tell you...
I'm not a traditional, cookie cutter, susie homemaker type of woman.
I've always nodded my head to a different beat even before I became a mother and wife. I got pregnant before I was married just like many other women but because its not exemplary I endured much pain and dissapointment from the reactions of people around me. I decided I would accomodate these opinions and conform. I got married and have tried my best to put on the image of suburban upperclass. I've realized no matter how hard I try I will never make them accepting of who I am. So why suffer when I'm not satisfied with it?
My challenge of this all is figuring out who I am now that I've stripped everything else away....
I am...
I am on my way.....
