Just get started!

Girlfriends!

Who is battling weight or health issues?

I've tried the hardcore, I've tired the crash diets. I'm so burnt out from always taking more steps back. I end up gaining more then I originally weighted! I am at my record heaviest and it feels horrible. My body hurts, my energy sucks and I feel hopeless.

I've looked back at similar posts and they all have the same line  "I'm at my heaviest". Some of those posts I dream of being that weight again! There comes a point in someone's life where they have to look at where they are going and make a decision as to whether they will change. I'm at the point of a change. REAL CHANGE.

No more games.

Here's the thing... this concept of just starting, even if it's only a little bit, can be applied to all aspects of life. Troop leading, starting up a business, or organizing a home. It's better to start small then not start at all. The concept go big or go home hasn't worked for me.

Baby steps.

So here I am taking that first small step. We bought a treadmill so I can ease myself into work outs with inclined walking. When that feels like not enough, I will push it further but I'm just prepping my body for a life time of change and that doesn't happen overnight.

All you have to do is take that first step. The hardest thing about working out is putting on those shoes and making the decision to do it.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

This is what I will look like! I'm even hoping to add in a fanny pack! I told my husband those were coming back... aren't' they?

What I want to change:

  • Fatigue and general lack of energy
  • Feeling weak
  • Clear up my face
  • Feel confident in a new outfit/not dread clothes shopping
  • Reduce the aches and pains at the end of the day

This week my focus is on just getting moving and finding a time of day that fits. I will need to do some experimenting with my schedule to see what works best with work and kids.

I am also focusing on preparation. Proper preparation prevents poor food choices! I'm doing my research now to come up with a shopping list so I can do all the food prep this Sunday! Know any clean eating recipes that are kid friendly?

Mamas! Lets set that example and show our girls our own confidence and self love by favoring ourselves enough to focus on our health!
