Meet.....Ryleigh Claire

I know this is waaaayyy late...

She was born on November 15th and weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces, 19 inches long! She was 7 weeks premature... pretty big preemie!

I'm such a bad mom.... The only pictures I have of my baby are on my phone. What kind of a mother am I? Luckily, my friend is having a photo shoot for her product line next week and my babies are going to be models!!!

Here are some pictures until then!
She was in the NICU for 3 weeks...

Such a proud big sis!
Play time!
Sleepy time
Smiles!
Ahhh I love this girl!

A pea in the pod

It's official... I'm pregnant again!!! It came as a surprise but we are very happy and feel extremely blessed! My due date is January 2nd, maybe a New Years baby?!?! As of this week I am 16 weeks!

This pregnancy has already been so different then the last. I have my hunch as to the sex, but I'll save that for later. I was correct with the first one, so we will see. I am not as nearly sick or as tired as before. Thank God for that. However, I have been a little more light-headed and dizzy.

It's all been surreal. At times I can't even believe I am pregnant. Like it's all been a dream.

One thing that I do know, is that you forget. You forget the feelings, the sympotoms. You forget everthing and then you have to pull out old faithful... "what to expect when you are expecting"

I need to start bargain hunting now for some maternity wear! Check back for the lastest in prego styles and deals!!!

Motherhood is about patience

Before I had Bella and before I found out I was pregnant I didn't take very well to children and babies. I know some of you are thinking how could I not like babies... Well I was that person. I would cringe at the whisper of screaming children. I kind of found it annoying. It tested my patience, what patience I even had. I would find those mothers at the mall that would have this screaming child begging to go and they would just nonchalantly ignore them and keep on doing what there were doing. I thought how rude and selfish, not only to the child but the people around her. Children at a certain age have no self control, its natural and its a part of growing up so you can't stop the crying sometimes... but you can put everyone else out of their misery by exiting the building.

Motherhood has taught me patience. I now know how to tone out those cries and screams. I've become a pro at it. Though I don't stay wandering around while my child is acting up in public. I'm the mom that is scurrying out the door of embarrassment. I see these moms at the mall all the time and I totally sympathize with you.

I was kinda shocked at how patient I have become with motherhood. This weekend I was in the bathroom about to put my contacts in when my daughter threw, not dropped but purposely threw my cell phone into the toilet! Normally I would blow a load and get angry, but surprisingly a surreal sense of calm came over me as I reached into the toilet to fetch it out. I looked at my daughter and said nothing. I think she was expecting me to yell. I was so calm I felt like I was in a daze. In such a daze that when I went to put my contacts in my eyes, I had completely ignored the fact that my hands were just in a toilet and didn't wash them. I didn't even realize this until hours later driving in the car to work. You know how when something just dawns on you when your not thinking about it? I'm expecting to visit the eye doctor in a couple of days!

In addition to my phone in the toilet, Bella also amazingly locked herself in her room. I don't even know how this is possible but yep it happened. I had to call the maintenance guy to help me unlock it. I also got a bowl full of cereal down my dress this morning over a fight with the spoon. She obviously won. I guess this means we have reached that stage. The terrible toddler stage! It's only up hill from here.

This coming Saturday we will officially attempt yet again the potty training! Can't wait!

Oopsy Poopsy!!

I had heard about the three day weekend Potty training challenge! Not going into to much detail the outcome is suppose to be very effective but requires much work. I had a weekend off coming up and so did my husband so we thought “lets stay in and do this!” Until I forgot that I was suppose to attend my best friend’s bridal shower and my husband would be stuck most of the first day alone.

I ended up getting a phone call from him mid day with an exhausted sound in his voice saying “babe I just can’t do this… I’m putting on the diaper” I chuckled to myself picturing him running around the living room chasing our bare bottomed baby as she trickled pee everywhere in the mist of screams and laughter having the time of her life with out a diaper while thinking it was hilarious the way daddy was acting. My husband following her with a spray bottle and paper towels… looking back it still makes me laugh!

We didn’t succeed in the challenge that weekend but she has become more aware of down there and her physical need to poop. She will tug at her diaper and even attempt to take it off because she knows she needs changing. When you ask her where her butt is, she gives you this devilish grin and lifts up one leg to mock her daddy.

So it all happened one afternoon… We had just finished lunch and I was cleaning the dishes when Bella motioned that she had to poop by lifting her leg and then she disappeared around the corner. I thought I will change it as soon and I’m done with the dishes. She was very quite for a minute and it seemed like something was up. When she came back she had one of the straps to her diaper unfastened and was attempting the other one….

“Noooooo!”

It was too late; her diaper had fallen and poopy was going everywhere. I ran to pick it up but then my little giggling monster started to run and brush her bum against everything. I yelled “No Bella!” and her reply with her devilish smile…
 “Oopsy"
